Body and head elongate. Adipose eyelid moderately developed; eye diameter approximately equal to or greater than snout length. Teeth villiform. Pectoral filaments 5; firrst filament shortest, not reaching to level of pelvic-fin origin; fifth filament longest. Caudal fin deeply forked, upper and lower caudal-fin lobes very long, filamentous. Scales small, ctenoid.
