Description:
D1 VIII; D2 9; P1 15; P2 I/5; A I/7. Color of head and back brown-red, sides and belly white; a distinct lemon yellow longitudinal band runs from anterior profile of head. Both dorsal fins yellow, with 3 red: horizontal stripes; anal fin whitish no marks; caudal fin with 5 or 6 dusky cross-bars on upper lobe. Body elongate. Chin with two stout, thin barbels. Pectoral fins much longer than pelvic fins. Caudal peduncle moderately deep. Scales ctenoid.
