Description:
The pectoral fins are well developed and caudal fin is present. No spots are present on the upper and lower sides beyond the rear margin of the eye. When the mouth is closed, the premaxillary teeth protrude. Gill slit is large and the posterior nostril lacks flaps with unsegmented fin rays. The teeth are conical and the premaxillary teeth are connected with vomerine teeth. Dorsal fin originates above the gill slit and there are 143 vertebrae. Eyes are large, the snout is short and the tongue is wide and free. The body is brown, while the dorsal and anal fins are black.
