Description:
It has elongated body and the eyes are nearly contiguous, lacking a tentacle. The posterior rays of the dorsal and anal fins are fully connected to the caudal fin and the pectoral fins on both the side with eyes and the blind side are of equal length. The scales are moderately ctenoid on both sides of the body. On the side with eyes, the body and fins are pale with several alternating crossbars of ash-brown. The caudal fin is purple-brown with large ash-brown blotches.
