Description:
They resemble Lepturacanthus savala but lack small canine teeth projecting forward on the upper jaw. The first spine in the anal fin is small and soft anal fin rays are slightly protruding through the ventral skin in smaller specimens. In terms of color, fresh specimens display a steel-blue hue with a silvery reflection and their pectoral fins are semitransparent.
