Description:
The valves are triangular in shape, with margins that are either straight or slightly concave and apices that are either pointed or somewhat rounded, measuring between 25-65µm in length. The valve surface is raised at the center and angles, with the apices being separated by short, slightly elevated furrows on the valve surface. The valve face is covered in areolae, which are circular or rectangular in the middle and are unevenly distributed. Toward the edges, these areolae align in radial rows, numbering about 5 per 10µm, and at the apices, there are 12-15 areolae per 10µm.
