Description:
Shell large, thin and globose, whorls convex, suture gutter-like or channelled, base open.Aperture broader, outer lip rather thick, columella without parietal callus, twisted on its lower part. Sculptured with 5 to 6 spiral ribs on the early whorls, and about 16 to 17 broad, flat ribs on the body whorl divided by narrow and shallow grooves. Colour: cream or light fawn, ornamented with uneven light brown or purple-brown markings. aperture brown within, with white columella. Size: maximum shell length 110 mm; average shell length, width, aperture length and width measure about 84, 66, 67 and 38 mm, respectively
