Description:
Shell small, ovate-trigonal, thin, slightly inequivalve; laterally compressed with a straight posterodorsal margin. Anterior side rounded, posterior beak-shaped. Strong fold from the umbones just below. Outer surface with numerous, regularly spaced fine concentric striae, slightly raised on the posterodorsal side. One anterior and 1 posterior lateral tooth on each valve, strong in the right valve. Anterior lateral tooth rather distant from the cardinal teeth. Large, deep pallial sinus. Colour: outside pale red and white, orange around the umbones; interior pale or similarly coloured.
