The columella is concave and exhibits prominent, wide spiral cords. The body surface ranges in color from pale to dark brown overall, with yellowish-brown bands at the apex. The body surface is textured with numerous vertical rows of striae arranged in a spiral fashion. The spire is short, consisting of 5-7 whorls, with sutures that aren’t very distinct. The aperture is ribbed, and both the outer and inner lips have sharp edges, along with deep posterior and anterior canals. The shell is small and thick, taking on a pyramidal or conical-ovate shape, with a crescent-shaped region on the base that connects to the columellar callus.
