Description:
Body has a rounded cross-section and the caudal peduncle lacks lateral keels. The caudal fin is either rounded or truncate and there are no gill rakers. The back appears greenish, the sides are silvery, and the ventral region is white. The pectoral, pelvic and anal fins are light in color. In live adults, the dorsal fin lobe and the distal margin of the caudal fin exhibit a yellow hue. Additionally, there is a conspicuous round black spot near the base of the caudal fin and the anterior margin of the anal fin is orange.
