Description:
A big, graceful tern with an elongated lemon-yellow beak. The bill is not covered by the black cap. The juvenile has more black on its back and wings, giving it a scaly appearance. Similar in size, the Lesser Crested Tern’s breeding plumage features a black crown that reaches down to the bill.
