Description:
The fish has a moderately slender body with the deepest region around the middle of the abdomen, and it is less compressed. The dorsal profile is smooth, with a slightly raised nape and a straight dorsal-fin base at the spinous region. The head is moderately large, with a slightly convex dorsal profile and a snout that is blunt and moderately long. The mouth is moderately large and terminal, with a slightly oblique gape. The opercle has a strong spine, and the dorsal fin is single with a long base and distinct spines.
