The shell is small, solid, and either sub-globular or oblong-ovate in shape. It is ornamented with numerous, fine, white, closed, and elevated pustules or granulations. The dorsal sulcus is deep, and the posterior sulcus is short, constricted, and only rarely recurved. The base is convex and fulvous. The main distinguishing feature of this shell is the teeth, which cross the base to both margins. The aperture is narrow and elongate. The dorsum is ashy-blue or greyish-brown, and the extremities are dark orange-brown. The teeth are light brown and bordered with fine reddish-brown lines.
