Description:
The fish has a compressed body, with a depth measuring 2.0–2.3 times the standard length. The head profile is slightly concave above the orbit, and the snout is short and blunt. The caudal fin is emarginate. In terms of coloration, the back is dark bronze, transitioning to paler shades below. There are numerous gun-metal blue spots on the head and upper sides, approximately the size of a pinhead on the head and slightly smaller than the pupil posteriorly. These spots coalesce into paler silvery-blue undulating lines on the mid- and lower sides.
