Description:
D1 I/2+12; D2 absent; P1 I/12; P2 I/6; A 77. Back color brown or bluish, flanks silvery. Body fusiform, strongly compressed; abdomen sharply keeled. .Snout moderately prominent, bluntly pointed; maxilla short, its tip truncate and just extending to gill-opening. Dorsal-fin origin nearer to snout-tip than to caudal-fin base.
