Description:
The umbones are terminal, moderately pointed, sharply tapering, and ventrally recurved. There is a small shell ledge above the umbonal cavity, which is the depression in the shell where the umbones are located. The ledge supports the anterior adductor scar, which is a scar on the inside of the shell where the main muscle that closes the shell attaches. The internal margin, or the edge of the shell where the two valves meet, is finely crenulated, meaning that it is notched or jagged. The color of the exterior of the shell is greenish-brown, and it is paler towards the umbones.
