Description:
They are encased in a series of overlapping calcareous plates with shells typically appearing in shades of yellow, orange, or pink. The body has a pyramid-like shape. Shell wall is made up of six greyish-white plates, and the base of the shell is membranous. The opercular opening is diamond-shaped and the internal tissue ranges from white to pale pink. The rostral plate, located at the front of the shell, is notably broad.
