The smaller individuals display a red-violet color in life, while the larger ones have a dark purplish hue. Their ambulacral petals are well-developed but small, and they are closed at their distal ends. The peristome is slightly positioned towards the front, and the periproct is located in the posterior interambulacrum on the oral side, separated from the rear edge of the test. Tubercles on the test are uniform. The spines are short, fine, and closely packed in both the ambulacral and interambulacral areas on both the oral and aboral sides, with the oral ambulacral and interambulacral miliary spines having a similar appearance.
