Description:
This species features 6 median predorsal scales, 3 rows of scales on the cheek, and typically 15 pectoral fin rays. In the initial phase, it displays 4–5 diffuse dark bars on a yellow body. In the terminal phase, the coloration changes to bluish green with salmon-pink scale margins. There is a broad, irregular green band extending from the corner of the mouth across the lower part of the head, connected with two blue-green bands on the chin.
