Description:
Snout is long and narrow. Eyes are big without rear notch. Short upper and lower labial furrows are present with enlarged hyomandibular pores, usually between 3 to 8 hyomandibular pores on each side of the mouth. Second dorsal fin is smaller than anal fin. Interdorsal ridge is absent or rudimentary. There are 23–25 teeth on upper jaw and 21–24 on lower jaw. Colour: Grey or brownish grey above, pale below, bronzy when fresh, fins with dusky edges but not conspicuously marked.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Inshore and offshore shark found on continental and insular shelves, from the surf line down to 36 m. Bay of Bengal.
