Description:
At the front of the jaws, there are 4–8 incisiform teeth, succeeded by 2–5 series of molariform teeth with the inner posterior one being notably enlarged. There are 7–9 gill rakers on the lower limb and the lateral line comprises 56–64 scales. Regarding coloration, the head and body exhibit a silvery-black color. The body features yellow or golden longitudinal lines and there is a yellowish coloration on the pelvic and anal fins.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Benthic in coastal waters, sometimes entering estuaries.
