Colonies have an encrusting to slightly dome-shaped structure, reaching up to 160 millimeters in diameter. The corallites are cerioid, polygonal and have a diameter ranging from 3 to 6 millimeters. The colonies are pale grey with distinct white corallite walls, although in the western Indian Ocean, they may appear uniformly brown. Septa are evenly spaced and typically fuse in fan-like groups, featuring fine, saw-like teeth. The columellae consist of one to four pinnules.
