Description:
Body that is long and torpedo-shaped, with a long peduncle area. The lower jaw is marginally overhung by the upper jaw. On either side of the upper jaw are indentations that serve to define the beak. glossy black; a medium-gray patch that extends from the bottom jaw tip to the space between the flippers and then tapers off may be present. In the upper and lower jaws, there are eight to eleven massive, conical teeth on each side. The flukes have a distinct median notch and are slender and pointed at the tips.
