These organisms have a linear to fusiform shape, with only a slight overlap of cells in their chains. In valve view, they appear fusiform and exhibit weak silicification. Notably, their valves feature distinct fibulae and central nodules, while the interstriae are barely discernible. These organisms are capable of both sexual and asexual reproduction.
