Description:
The shell is large, thin, and somewhat flattened. The posterior margin is obliquely truncated. The ventral margin is broadly convex. The cardinal teeth are blade-like and fragile. The pallial sinus is large, deep and sloping forward. The ventral limp is wholly confluent with the pallial line. The anterior adductor muscle is elongate and the posterior adductor muscle is round. The color of the shell is purplish-blue or violet, with a polished olive-brown periostracum. The interior of the shell is deep purple.
