Description:
The fish has a relatively deep, ovate, and laterally compressed body, with an anal fin containing 3 spines and 13–14 soft rays. There are 23–29 total gill rakers on the 1st gill arch, and 45–52 vertical scale rows . The coloration includes a silvery pink to reddish hue on the body, head, and iris, while the fins are light red to pinkish. There are rusty brown spots on the dorsal, anal, and pelvic fins.
