Description:
The carapace of this crab is covered in a fine, granular texture, with the regions just barely discernible. There are 9 teeth on each side of the carapace’s front edge, with the last tooth being 2 to 3 times larger than the preceding teeth. The chelae (claws) are elongated in males, with the larger chela having a conical tooth at the base of the fingers. The pollex (thumb) is ridged. The crab’s color is olive to dark green, with 3 prominent maroon to red spots on the posterior third of the carapace. This crab is easily distinguished from other species by its distinct color markings.

Maheshkhali, Kutubdia channel, St. Martin’s and the Sonadia Islands
