Description:
The fish is identifiable by its chin, which has 2 pores followed by a pit containing a pore on each side. It has a body depth measuring 2.3 times its Standard Length (SL). The mouth is small, with the maxilla reaching to the eye, and the lips are not fleshy. The jaw teeth are villiform (brush-like). The dorsal fin consists of 12 spines and 14 soft rays, while the anal fin has 3 spines and 7 rays. There are 7 scale rows between the lateral line and the origin of the dorsal fin.In terms of coloration, the fish is pale silvery grey with bluish reflections and appears white below with fine brown dots on the lower sides. It features four dark brown bands on the back. The posterior half of the anal fin is dusky.
