Description:
A damselfish displaying a bluish color and presenting two distinct color phases: one characterized by a dark blue body often featuring iridescent blue markings on each scale, a dark earspot, a dark margin on the tail, and a black patch at the base of the pectoral fin. The other phase show a blue head and body with bright blue vertically elongated scale centers, transitioning abruptly to a whitish color below, and featuring a pale base on the pectoral fin. Juveniles exhibit a vivid blue coloration. The total number of dorsal spines is 14, with 13-14 dorsal soft rays, 2 anal spines, and 14-15 anal soft rays.
