Description:
The ventral margin is long. The periostracum is rather thick and smooth. Ligamental ridge holds the two valves of the shell together, is finely pitted. The hinge of the shell has 1 small tooth in the right valve and 2 in the left. The anterior adductor scar, which is a scar on the inside of the shell where the main muscle that closes the shell attaches, is absent in adult specimens.
