Shell solid, thick, compressed, ovate- trigonal. Umbones curved, pointed; strong concentric striae at the ventral margin of the sculptured exterior side; large lunule superficial, almost obsolete; ligament rather small. Colour: variable, usually white, or with some tinge of rust- brown; interior whitish.
