Description:
Dody is elongated and the eyes are set apart with a small, scaly interorbital space. Snout is rounded and the mouth is adorned with branched labial papillae. Scales are ctenoid on both sides of the body with 75–97 scales in the midlateral line. Typically, there are 8 caudal fin rays. In terms of coloration, the eyed side is brown with pale ocelli and occasionally marked or marbled with darker patches. Blind side has a yellowish tinge.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
On muddy and sandy bottoms of the inner continental shelf; also in estuaries.
