Description:
Membrane-textured, upright blades with a lubricous texture are fastened to the substrate by a discoidal holdfast with a diameter ranging from 7 to 20 mm. The lanceolate foliose blades are stipitate, simple, branching in a dichotomous manner, ranging from pale to complex. In aged fronds, the margin is whole or occasionally sharply serrated. The multiaxial thallus is made up of a filamentous medulla and a compact cellular cortex. Length: 10–70 cm. dull, ranging from rose-reddish to brownish.
