Description:
The fish has an elongated body with a large and terminal mouth, and teeth that are well-differentiated in size in both jaws. The dorsal fin is weakly notched, and there are two pairs of chin pores, with the first pair small and located at the front of the chin, separated by the symphysis. The swim bladder is carrot-shaped, featuring a pair of long tubular branches that originate near its rear end, run forward beside the main bladder, and parallel to it as they penetrate the transverse septum, ramifying into several caeca under the skull. The caudal fin is acutely pointed. In terms of coloration, the head and body are greyish, the flanks are silvery with a golden tinge, and the belly is paler. The lateral line appears golden yellow, while the median fins are yellow to pale orange, and the pelvic fins are pale orange. Additionally, the body exhibits a brownish color with a black spot at the axil.
