Description:
The fish possesses two distinct dorsal fins. The first exhibiting 6 visible spines and the second featuring 1 spine and 9 soft rays. Anal fin consists of 2 spines and 8 soft rays that are accompanied by 21–24 developed gill rakers on the first gill arch with 4–5 on the upper limb. The caudal fin is emarginate and the anus is situated in a forward position near the base of the pelvic fins. The body is pale with a slender blackish stripe extending from the front of the snout to the eye, occasionally continuing across the operculum and onto the body as a double line. Another dusky narrow stripe below the base of the first dorsal fin may sometimes be present and the fins appear pale. The digestive tract and anus are black.
