This diminutive appendicularian exhibits several distinct characteristics. Its trunk takes on an ovoid shape, while its tail is notably slender, measuring four times the length of its body. A distinguishing feature of its tail is the presence of a narrow tail muscle, as well as two distinctive sub-chordal cells. These cells are particularly notable, situated at a position between half to two-thirds down one side of the tail musculature, and they are discernible even without the use of staining agents, making them easily distinguishable in natural conditions.
