Description:
The position of the lower margin of the eye, which is just above an imaginary line from the tip of the snout to the upper base of the pectoral fins. The pectoral fins do not extend to the level of the anus, and there are small canine teeth at the front of the upper jaw. The pelvic fins reach the level of the anus. In terms of coloration, the upper part of the body is pinkish, displaying 7–8 indistinct darker pink saddles that reach to or just below the lateral line. The lower part of the body is silvery, featuring faint golden lines following each scale row, and there is a golden yellow stripe on the snout in front of the eye that passes through the nostrils. The dorsal fin is pale whitish-pink, with a pale yellow line or series of spots just above the base of the fin.
