Description:
No scutes are present on the caudal peduncle. There is a well-developed lateral line along with fleshy keels on each side of the dorsal and ventral peduncle grooves. The head is dark and the body features 5–6 dark, broad bars, including a similar bar at the end of the caudal peduncle. Additionally, there are 3–6 bars that extend through the soft dorsal and anal fin membranes. The rest of the body exhibits a bluish, light, or dusky color with prominent white tips on the upper and lower caudal fin lobes and smaller white tips on the 2nd dorsal and anal fin lobes. most fins appear dusky to dark.
