The shell is small to medium in size, very strong, solid, highly polished, and enameled. It is pentagonal due to the presence of curious nodules. It is usually rather flattened and angular, and has heavily callous sides . The aperture is moderately narrow, and the siphonal canal is deep. The teeth are medium-sized and do not extend across the base. The dorsum is yellow or off-white, mostly marked with two or three narrow or slightly broad but obscure greenish or slate-grey transverse bands that are widely separated from one another. Sometimes, there is an annular ring. The extremities of the shell are produced, and the sides are white and faintly yellow. The base is mostly white.
