Description:
Shell medium, thin, inflated, equivalve, transversely elongate ovate, with rounded ends. Exterior smoothish with fine concentric threads. Dorsal margin more or less symmetrically slanting towards the rounded anterior and posterior margins. Periostracum thin. Umbones prosogyrate. External ligament short; internal ligament well-developed, set in a large deep trigonal pit. Pallial line with well-developed pallial sinus, deep and longer than wide. Muscle scars unequal, anterior elongate, posterior rounded. Colour:exterior whitish with thin cream coloured periostracum; interior porcelaneous white.
