Description:
Triangulate, ovate shell, relatively elongate in outlines; equilateral or sub-equilateral, almost equivalve. Dorsal margin symmetrically slanting anteriorly and posteriorly; ventral margin arched and wide. Outside shiny with a few distinct concentric grooves. Lunule and escutcheon area also concentrically grooved. Umbones small, elevated anteriorly and slightly pointed posteriorly. Periostracum thin. Well developed lateral hinge teeth. Shallow, broadly rounded pallial sinus, higher than long. Colour: outside white to light brown with pale and dark concentric bands, often tinged with purple dorsally. Interior mauve
