Description:
Shell medium to large, thin, ovate to subtriangular and strongly inflated. Outside sculptured by fine growth lines, but smoothish. Dorsal margin sloping on either side of the umbones, anterior rounded, posterior obtusely truncate. Lateral hinge teeth highly developed like a plate. A well developed internal ligament set in a deep trigonal pit of the hinge plate. Cardinal teeth of the left valve inverted V-shaped. Pallial sinus shallow and widely open. Colour: outside creamy-white with pale brown concentric rays. Interior white.
