Description:
The shell is medium in size, flattened, solid, and heavy with large lateral calluses.The ventral side (bottom) is flat to concave with relatively strong and developed teeth around the opening. The dorsum (upper surface) is banded with rich red-brown color fading to grey-brown at the margin and then to white at the lips. An uneven cream-tan band runs axially across the dorsum.
