Description:
The body is fusiform and slender, with a depth of 2.9–3.3 in SL. The dorsal fin has 10–12 spines and 12 soft rays. The preorbital bone is very narrow, much less than the eye diameter. Vomerine teeth are arranged in a triangular patch with a medial posterior extension, and the tongue has a patch of granular teeth. Scale rows on the back rise obliquely above the lateral line, and there are 24–26 gill rakers on the 1st gill arch. The coloration features a yellowish or pale brown background, with a prominent dark yellow stripe along the sides from the tip of the snout, through the eye, to the caudal fin. The fins are pale yellow to whitish.
