Description:
It has 10-11 dorsal spines and 13-14 dorsal soft rays. Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 9. The dorsal profile of the head has a steep slope. The preorbital bone is relatively wide. The preopercular notch and knob are not well-developed. The scale rows on the back rise diagonally above the lateral line. The coloration ranges from red to reddish-orange, occasionally featuring a faint saddle-shaped black mark on the caudal peduncle behind the dorsal fin. The median fins exhibit a reddish color, sometimes with a hint of yellow or narrow brown/black borders, while pelvic fins are red and pectoral fins are yellow.
