The jellyfish has an almost hemispherical-shaped umbrella, and its jelly is notably thick, especially in the apical region. It features a marginal nematocyst ring on the exumbrella, consisting of four perradial and four interradial short nematocyst tracks. The manubrium, which houses the mouth, is located on a long gastric peduncle, measuring 1-3 times the height of the umbrella. The mouth itself has four simple or slightly crenulated lips. This jellyfish possesses a well-developed velum and typically has four straight radial canals.Within the subumbrellar portion of the radial canals, there are four gonads, which can vary in shape and size. The jellyfish boasts four long, hollow perradial marginal tentacles, each equipped with nematocyst rings. Additionally, there are four small solid interradial tentacles featuring adaxial nematocyst clusters. When alive, the manubrium, gonads, and marginal tentacles of this jellyfish display colors ranging from rose-red to green.
