Description:
Tall wader with a bill that is bicolored. The male’s breeding plumage is dark brick-red below, while the female’s is pale orangey; the nonbreeding plumage is gray-brown overall with a white belly, resembling the Black-tailed Godwit. Shows a white rump, a finely barred tail, and rather plain upperwings with only a faint white wing stripe when in flight.
