Description:
Plants with dichotomously branched axils that are moderately divided but become acute when the calcification cracks, and lengthy segments that span 5 to 13 mm between dichotomies. Axes smooth, brittle with age, terete, extensively calcified, and occasionally striated. A central medulla with longitudinally aligned filaments containing anticlinal assimilatory fascicles is seen in the multiaxial structure. either monocious or dioecious plants. Color range: pale pink to white.
