Description:
Body is sub-cylindrical and Head black, with a curved yellow mark above, this colour often extends forwards to cover the whole of the snout and downwards behind the eye to reach the lip. Subcaudals 38-47 in male and 30-35 in the female. Anal divided. It has scale rows around neck and midbody 19 and ventrals 225 to 243, about four times as broad as long. Body light or dark bluish-grey above, yellowish below, with uniform broad black bands, some bands are incomplete below..
