Description:
The maxilla extends to the posterior 1/3 of the eye. Mouth is large and oblique with a notable lower jaw. The caudal fin is forked. In terms of color, the fish is silvery grey with blue iridescence above and silvery white below. There is a dusky spot on the upper part of the gill cover. The fins are all pale yellow and the dorsal and caudal fins may occasionally have dusky margins.
